To Punish and Enslave

Last night Xander and I went to see the new Transformers movie… it was… oh I dunno…  ABSOLUTELYFREAKINAWESOME!!!

Xander has been dying to see it and for me it was more of a ‘sure I’ll go’ situation.  I mean, Transformers?  Seriously, what’s next G.I. Joe?   I didn’t think it was going to be anything that fantastic but since he really wanted to go I was game.

The joke was on me because I think it was the best movie I’ve seen in I really don’t know how long.  It was funny as hell in spots, the special effects (all the transformations) were unreal and most of all it was so unbelievably exciting!  I mean heart thumping, make you squeal exciting.

Yeah there was a point where I actually did squeal with excitement but nobody noticed because they were all so excited themselves.  I leaned over and asked Xander if the movie really was as thrilling as I thought or if I was just having a serious sugar rush from all the Coke and Maltesers.  He assured me that it really WAS that exciting.

It was non stop action from beginning to end and they really couldn’t have chosen a better person than Shia LeBeouf to play the main character.  I’ve never seen him before but he was great.  He sort of reminded me a little of Shitbreak from American Pie.

There was also a lot of familiar faces in the movie… John Voight, the guy who plays Danny on Las Vegas, the Spanish guy from Prison Break, Dave from What About Brian and others I’ve forgotten already.

The parents in the movie are a RIOT, the transformers themselves have REALLY funny moments and damn, I just REALLY loved this movie.

Here’s a trailer for those of you who are completely sheltered and haven’t heard of this movie yet.

Even if you only ever bother going to the movies once or twice a year, this one is worth making the trip for, I promise you!

  1. loved the movie. i never was a big hasbro transformer toy fan as a kid. but this movie was great. a close second to ‘shooter’

  2. I saw it tonight! It was awesome!

  3. Yeah that movie was flat-out awsome! All that fighting and explosions, and ofcourse those transformations, were the best entertainment you can get with the price of a movie ticket. I especially loved that police car with the text “to punish and enslave…”

  4. We watched it last night and again this morn. It is an awesome movie. I wish I had a bumblebee car! :)

  5. I was thinking about waiting for DVD, but after this read my boyfriend and I will go see it tonight! I was the girl who hated my little ponies, and wanted a transformer more than anything, but all I ever got was my little ponies. (and even a Jeanette girl chipmunk doll!)

  6. I’m still shocked at the number of (predominantly male) people I know who are dying to see this. I kind of thought that it would be a bust. I’m so happy to know I won’t be the only woman there, however reluctantly. It’s even better that I might have a shot at actually liking it!

  7. You should get paid for plugging movies lol. I wasn’t so sure I wanted to see this movie but after reading your view on it I want to see it. Going to have to wait till dvd though, the movie theatre we have here is pathe’tic’ is would just be a “tic” in the pathe theatres there, and the seats are so small and uncomfortable you can’t even enjoy the movie, not counting the price!!
Ah well will wait till dvd, glad you enjoyed the movie. That is one thing I miss from Holland. I used to go to the movies sometimes once or twice a weekend, if there was something good playing.
