Movie Therapy

Over the last week I’ve been trying to forget my work woes by diving into one of my favorite pastimes – watching movies!   Not that I don’t do this all the time anyway but I’ve been doing it even more lately.

Last Saturday I went into town with friends Penny and Lynda to grab some lunch and see a movie.  We saw Music and Lyrics with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant.  Here’s a review:

On Thursday evening Xander and I decided to catch a movie on the spur of the moment.  He’s been itching to see Hannibal Rising and I was curious to see it too, so we went.  It’s been a long time since we went out to a film with just the two of us, we usually go with friends.  I liked it, it was nice.  Here’s a review:

This past Saturday I went into town again and met up with a friend from work, Wendy.  We did a bit of shopping in the ‘Little Blue Store’, which is what we all call a store with a blue front near the theater that sells British and American goodies for insane prices.  Lord help me, I bought a box of chocolate covered Oreo cookies and nearly ate myself sick on them during the movie.  They were sooooo good though!  There goes the diet!

Anyway, we saw Dreamgirls… here’s a review:

Having the Unlimited Pathe card (17 euros/month for unlimited movies at Pathe theaters) is great for times like this.   If work keeps up like it has been lately I’ll be putting that card to good use just to have a few hours where I’m not dreading my next shift!

  1. 300 would probably give you the lift you’re looking for hun ;-)

  2. Wow, they’ve got an unlimited movies for a month for 17 euros? We need that here for Regal theatres. Damn that place is expensive. At the very least, I have the regal crown card that lets us have free popcorn and drinks on certain days. (which is an awesome savings since popcorn costs an arm and a leg!)

I haven’t seen any of those movies yet, but I think I’d like to check out Hannibal Rising for sure. I know Meesh wants to go see Music & Lyrics, and I do as well, but only because of Drew. LOL I’ll watch any movie she’s in, good or bad.
