Stone Washed BlueSand Cardigan Complete!

Stonewashed BlueSand Cardi

FINALLY! My BlueSand Cardigan finished! Well, it’s been finished for a while but I’ve been so busy wearing it and loving it that I haven’t gotten around to writing about it! Please ignore the state of me in the photo. I’m dreadfully anemic at the moment and had just had a very long day at Scheepjes for our blogger’s day. I was barely able to keep my eyes open, but I was super happy! So, let’s concentrate more on the awesome cardigan and less on the walking zombie wearing it, ok? haha

Here’s another photo from blogger’s day, taken by Sarah from Crafts from the Cwtch of me and Dedri from Look at What I Made. We just happened to match that day!

Tammy and Dedri

This was such a beautiful project. I loved every single minute that I was making this and I had a feeling that it was going to work out just right. There was a gap in the middle where I had to put it aside to work on other things, but the minute I picked it back up again, I was hooked. I just knew that this was going to be the project that was going to work out perfectly in every way, that I’d wear without feeling a nagging thought of something I could have or should have done differently. I had a beautiful pattern with the perfect yarn and it was all systems go. Aggh! I love it so much!!

There are so many little touches on this cardigan that I really appreciate.

BlueSand Cardigan

The waffle stitch on the sleeves in the contrasting colour, to match the waffle stitch along the bottom of the cardigan.

The striped detail on the inside of the pockets. Such a nice touch!  Oh and can I also say, look at this photo, this yarn is just so, so nice. Beautiful stitch definition and that soft fuzz, it’s like being wrapped up in a colourful cotton ball.

BlueSand Cari Blocking

The hint of colour between the body and the edge. Again, just a small touch that adds something really eye catching and interesting to the garment. The Lemon Quartz colour stands out so beautifully against the darker colours. Crazy about it.

I’m just over the moon with his cardigan. I already have the feeling that I’m going to wear this to death and am considering another using the new Scheepjes Merino Soft yarn.  First, though, I plan on doing another cardigan by this designer using a cashmere yarn I have in my stash. Oh my word, I just can’t even… I’ll write more about that another time.

Susan Lucci had this crazy idea that it looks better on her, but she can suck it. Her days of wearing it are over! I mean, SHE isn’t the one that weaved in all those ends, now, is she?!

Here is all the info you need if you would like to make this cardigan:

Yarn used: Scheepjes Stone Washed (803 Black Onyx, 802 Smokey Quartz, 812 Lemon Quartz)
Note: I ordered the same amount of Stone Washed yarn as was recommended for the original yarn in the pattern. I’d suggest doing the same based on your own size.
Pattern: BlueSand Cardigan (Ravelry / La Maison Rililie)
Needle Size: 4.5mm, 4mm, 3.5mm
Size Pictured: (based on my own measurements) Large

You can find a list of retailers that sell the Scheepjes Stone Washed here on the Scheepjes website. It is also available worldwide via DeramoresWool Warehouse*

This post was made in coordination with Scheepjes. All work, photos, thoughts and opinions are my own.
