The Return of Project Fatass

Ok so Project Fatass has been back in action now for the past two weeks and things are going really well.  Keeping track of what I eat and my exercise helps a lot.  I stay within my calorie range every day and eat a lot more healthy food than I did before.

Learning to Eat HealthyIt’s funny because I always thought of eating healthier as eating less, but that’s not really the case.   In fact, I am eating more now than I ever have.  It’s just more healthy food and it takes more of it to meet my calorie range, rather than the things I used to eat going over my calorie range in one meal!

No more Maltesers for me! Ok well maybe one or two here or there :P

The pic above is my breakfast yesterday.  Two hard boiled eggs (I’m sorry but I’m just not ready to give up my yolks!) a small orange, 15g of feta cheese, 2 diet wasa crackers and a glass of apple juice.  Healthy AND filling!

The exercise has been more of a struggle so far than the food.  I am SO friggin lazy!  I will procrastinate all day if I can, but I’m trying to break myself of that habit.  Today I exercised twice, once biking 7kms and then this evening I walked 3kms.  Not bad!

The walk was funny actually.  My husband and I went for a drive with the dog and he took me to this nice area where people go to walk, jog and exercise.  It’s really cool with nice trails through the woods and fields and every half a km or so they have exercise places to do situps, chinups and all that fun stuff (I skipped that bit, I couldn’t do a chinup to save my life).

I couldn’t find a pic of the area anywhere so I used Google earth and took a screenshot to show what I am talking about.

Trimbaan Oude Maas

When we got there I told Xander that I didn’t want to walk TOO much as the blisters on the balls of my feet were just starting to heal from our last walk.  We agreed that we’d just give the small track (seen in red) a go and see how it is.  Well, we made a wrong turn and ended up doing the biggest area haha (which you can see in green).  I was walking at a fairly decent speed and it took us 30 minutes to get around the entire thing.  The bottoms of my feet are BURNING from rubbing on my sandals, I really need to get new laces for my walking shoes.

It’s a beautiful place to walk though, it’s right near the Oude Maas in Barendrecht, for those Dutchies who are reading this.  There is also a really lovely spa which you can see the path going around on the right.   Some day I’m going to go there and get the full treatment.

Except the sauna, I have a weird thing about breathing warm air.

So, time for the digits.  My two week weigh in and measurements were on Sunday and I’m down…. *Drummroll*

8 pounds and 7.5 inches (overall)

Go me, go me… *Weird little hip wiggle and circular motions with my arms*

  1. You can do it! I have to re-lose some of the weight I gained this summer. Damn my father’s good home cooking.

  2. Monica Van Maanen

I can do the exercise but it’s the portion control that I have trouble with. I like my food. It tastes good. I want a second helping. Food, mmmmmmm…

  3. Nice! You go girl! I need to do exercise. Of course, I think I say that everytime someone says they did some exercise. :P
