Nature Sucks

Cupid died today…  This morning he was fine, and by this afternoon I knew he was going to die.   His decline was rapid, and I have no idea what caused it.

He had everything he needed, and Stelo is still fine *knocks wood*.   Cupid was very young, too young to be sold and in truth I knew the risks when I bought him.   I just hoped that with enough love and care he’d grow to be strong and live a long healthy life.

That just wasn’t in the cards for him though.  Unfortunately, when dealing with hatchlings that young there is always a risk that some won’t make it.   Nature has it’s own way of deciding what babies live and die.  It just really sucks that it had to be mine that died.

Now Stelo is on his own and all I can do is give him tons of love and do what I can to make sure he is ok.   He seems much stronger than Cupid ever did though… so hopefully that will continue.

Xander is outside burying him now.  This sucks pretty badly for him as well, he was so happy to be able to give me something I loved so much for Valentine’s day.

Bleeeeeeeeh.

We were so busy watching over Cupid and hoping for signs of improvement that we forgot all about dinner.   I think I’m going to go to McDonalds and get a mega sized quarter pounder meal WITH fries AND coke.   The hell with my diet, I just need some seriously sinful comfort food.

  1. **HUGS** Sorry hon!

    Go get that comfort food!

  2. I’m really sorry to hear about Cupid. >

  3. Sorry to hear about cupid, that really sucks. :(

Get McDonalds and enjoy your comfort food. Once in a while isn’t going to hurt at all and it sounds like you could use the comforting!

  4. Awwww, that is terrible! I am so sorry to hear that.

  5. Oh no :( I’m sorry to hear (read) that. I’ve had pets on the brain for the past couple of months, but I’m still taking Hugh’s loss very hard.

For what it’s worth, I’d take a pet as a Valentine’s gift over flowers or any retail item. Pets are all about unconditional love.

  6. So sorry that you lost dear cupid :( ~Hugs~

  7. Hello! I just did a google search on living in rotterdam and your blog came up (one of the first 10 listings too!) and I have been reading your blog for the last 45 min. cracking up! I love the spat area. Socks never look good with shorts and many kitchen tools are a must…anyway, i’m a jazz musician and i’m looking to transfer to the Royal Conservatoire of Music and…I have no idea what its like there! So I read your blog about your likes and dislikes in Holland and it was so funny! I do have a question though. About toilets…I might be visiting Rotterdam in a few weeks to check it all out and…i think i will be on my period at the time…possibility…anyway, how do you throw away pads and tampons??? I’m going to be visiting a guy! This just occured to me last night…and I have no idea if it is different over there…if you can’t flush tampons down the toilet or not. I know this is such an odd thing to ask, but its better to ask online instead of on the plane LOL But you seem like a very frank woman so thats why I asked. If nothing else, I am now a dedicated reader :) Thanks so much!
