Geeky Girl

I now officially wear glasses! We phoned the shop today and were told they were ready so we stopped by after Xander got home and picked them up. It feels weird, the only glasses I’ve ever worn were sunglasses and I keep wanting to shove these glasses on top of my head when I’m indoors. I also wonder how long it will be until I stop noticing the frames and being aware of them… This is all such a new thing to me!

I know the pic isn’t the greatest quality. I snapped it quick today with my webcam because my digital cam is out of juice and I keep forgetting to charge it. I suck like that.

So what do you think? Have the new specs restored my Geeky Girl status after giving up gaming? I think so!

Oh and check it out, I dyed my hair all by myself! I thought the reddish brown color I got from the salon was as boring as shit so I got a semi-permanent dye to try to do myself. It’s called ‘Cosmic Blue’, which is really just a really deep black with a blue tint to it. I really like it, plus it costs like 1/4 of the ridiculous price they charge me at the salon!

  1. I. ADORE. Those. Glasses.

They look lovely! And your hair looks gorgeous too. How can you manage to dye it yourself? Seriously, I try and later notice all the blond and brown bits poking through the black which I’ve missed, so I end up with multicoloured hair!

    *envy*

  2. Glasses rock, no idea what this geek stuff is. You glasses look really good on you so dont’ worry. When I first got mine I too had the “how long until I don’t see the frame” thing. About 3weeks into having them I realized I didn’t see the frame anymore, or I just got used to seeing it. Not that it takes 3 weeks but that’s just when I noticed.

Dying your own hair is not that much different than doing it at the salon. I went to the salon for the first time when I got married in April and quite frankly my husband did a better job than this lady did.

I will say however I can’t dye my own hair, my husband does it for me. I have this back of my head dyslexia or something. When it comes to the back of my head, because I can’t see it, I can’t dye it..or braid it or anything else to it. So I am impressed you dyed it yourself :)

  3. Very cool glasses. :)

  4. Wow Tammy you’re looking GOOD girl. Been about 2 years since I have seen you in real life. I like the hair cut as well.
With the glasses I figure you will notice the frames for awhile since they are quite thick, but they suit you to a tee. I only wish I could pull them off.
And the diet is working I notice your face is getting smaller, and that is hard, especially when you get a short hair cut, makes your (anyone’s) face bigger usually. But you look good girl keep it up.

  5. definitely cool glasses. I’m so in need of getting new ones myself. Thanks for reminding me!

The hair is looking good too!

  6. I have a similar frame and I enjoy being the geek at times. I have contacts, too, but usually when I’m in laptop mode I’m all glasses.

I’ve found I can get more creative with my make-up. When I wear glasses I tame the eye stuff down and wear more lip liner or a deeper shade of glossy stuff.

I’m not a big make-up buff or anything, being in the mountains, but it gives me a little room to have fun.

Hair and glasses look good! Thanks for sharing!

  7. I like them. At least you haven’t done what I did when I first got glasses – which was wear them out the door of the shop and walk straight into a lightpost! They mess up your depth perception (well, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!)

  8. I like the glasses and the hair colour…
    You are a rockin babe!
I have not been to a salon in 7 years…
HAve saved a lot of money I tell ya…

  9. Not Geeky, Cool in a Sophisticated Way … Or Sophisticated in a Cool Way!!!
