Another Blogger Fired

A while ago I wrote about a guy who got fired for blogging. He worked for a company called Waterstone’s in the UK and was fired when his boss found out he’d been writing about work on his blog.

Today, in my travels on Blogexplosion I came across yet another blogger fired for blogging.

Apparently he was given no warning, was just called in and told that someone he works complained and was fired. How in gods name does this happen?

According to the blogger, he claims that he hasn’t written anything negative about his job and that he really enjoyed it. He figures someone he worked with made false accusations in regards to his blog and his bosses just ran with it.

Blogging is a part of life nowadays. There are millions of blogs online, each with varying degrees of personal information. I still find myself wondering where we draw the line between what is ok to blog about and what isn’t. I think everyone has their own views on this based on their own personality and comfort levels. So who decides?

I still find it so difficult to understand how someone is just fired like that without even a warning. I could see if the guy had child porn on his blog or was making claims that he caught his boss boning his secretary, but this just doesn’t add up.
