NBA or NFL?

I just got this in an email and wanted to share it.   To be honest, I generally hate spammy emails.  I hate getting e-cards when there is no special occasion going on, I hate mass emails people are constantly sending me.

I actually read this one though and found it sort of interesting.

Neither,
it’s the 535
members of the United
States Congress.

The same  group of Idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

…AND THEY JUST VOTED THEMSELVES $15,000 PER MONTH PENSION FOR LIFE AFTER SERVING ONLY ONE TERM IN CONGRESS!!

As I was reading this I thought, oh yeah, that’s typical!  Those damn sports superstars and all their money, drugs and babes!  Doesn’t surprise me!

The ending surprised me though…

Of course, I really have no idea how much truth their is to it.  You have to take these mass emails with a grain of salt.  If it is true though, it’s a bit scary to imagine having so many things in your life decided by these people.

I’d be curious to see these kind of stats for those in Canada and the Netherlands!

  1. Just wanted to stop and leave a Gazoo for any Blogazoo surfer that stops by.

  2. Okay, I was 5 years off. Sorry. :)

  3. I thought I’d heard this before, so did a bit of researching. This list was originally circulated in 1999 (http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/congress.asp) & looks like the info is pretty much the same.
What interested me was the drunk driving, but I couldn’t find any concrete info via Google.

  4. Delurking to say:

The email has been circulating since about 1994 (seriously). I’m sure the numbers are still high today (too high), but this email made the rounds during the House banking scandal which happened right before the Republicans first took control of the House in 94.

    Enjoy your blog :)

  5. i can believe it. These freaking crooks in the US congress and House, all are crooks.

Spend spend spend, and don’t give a damn about anyone else but themselves.

  6. You’re right, you do have to take those emails with a grain of salt, and I bet perhaps half (or less than half) of that is made up and isn’t true. But you know what, even if half of that is correct…that’s just not right.

I mean, they’re politicians. Who’s more crooked and dishonest than most politicians?
