{"id":9010,"date":"2011-06-06T16:01:00","date_gmt":"2011-06-06T14:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gettingirlie.com\/?p=48"},"modified":"2013-01-10T13:36:16","modified_gmt":"2013-01-10T12:36:16","slug":"my-first-franken-space-dream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/9010","title":{"rendered":"My First Franken: Space Dream"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, a lot of firsts on this blog\u2026 guess that\u2019s part of being a newbie!<br \/>\nI\u2019ve been reading a lot on Facebook and other people\u2019s blog about \u2018Frankens\u2019\u00a0 \u2026 basically, polishes that people create by mixing existing polishes they already have.\u00a0 I don\u2019t have a lot of polish but I did have a few old ones that I never use, so I gathered them up and started mixing.<br \/>\nOf course I didn\u2019t think to take photos of what I started with, because I was pretty sure I\u2019d just end up with some glumpy mess.\u00a0 The starting color was the green from Maybelline that I used in my <a href=\"http:\/\/gettingirlie.blogspot.com\/2011\/03\/st-pattys-day-manicure.html\" target=\"_blank\">St. Patty&#8217;s Day Manicure<\/a>, which was practically empty after my attempt at marbling.<br \/>\nAll in all I&#8217;d say I used 7-8 different polishes in varying amounts.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/franken1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"franken1\" alt=\"franken1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/franken1_thumb.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"418\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis is what I ended up with, a pretty dusky purple color with gold and blue glitter which came from my <a href=\"http:\/\/gettingirlie.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/miss-cop-market-mani.html\" target=\"_blank\">Miss Cop Diamante Blanc<\/a> that I bought at the market and love desperately.<br \/>\nI added some heavier glitter, the squares you can see in the bottle, but they don\u2019t appear to get picked up by the brush.\u00a0 Not that I\u2019ve seen yet anyway\u2026 That was a dab of <a href=\"http:\/\/gettingirlie.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/dont-tell-romeo.html\" target=\"_blank\">Essence Nail Art Twin: Julia<\/a> that I threw in for good measure.<br \/>\nI wasn\u2019t sure what to call this so Megan from over at <a href=\"http:\/\/paintingrainbowsblog.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Painting Rainbows<\/a> named it Space Dream. I thought it was pretty, so it stuck.<br \/>\nI\u2019m not sure this frankening thing was as exciting an experience for me as it is for other nail gals.\u00a0 It could be because I didn\u2019t have a lot of nail polish and didn\u2019t want to \u2018waste\u2019 any of my good ones on something like this, or maybe it\u2019s just not my bag.\u00a0 I guess time will tell.\u00a0 Maybe I\u2019ll try something else again at some point and come up with something that really knocks my socks off.\u00a0 Until then I\u2019ll put the frankening on hold, I think, and concentrate on things I enjoy a little more.\u00a0 Perhaps next I will try making one of those <a href=\"http:\/\/rebeccalikesnails.blogspot.com\/2011\/06\/my-new-favorite-polish-technique.html\" target=\"_blank\">Glitter Sandwiches<\/a> everyone is so crazy about at the moment!\u00a0 I think they look quite nice and I have plenty of glitter to test it out on!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wow, a lot of firsts on this blog\u2026 guess that\u2019s part of being a newbie!
