{"id":8956,"date":"2013-01-10T06:40:02","date_gmt":"2013-01-10T05:40:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/?p=8956"},"modified":"2013-01-10T06:48:30","modified_gmt":"2013-01-10T05:48:30","slug":"canada-october-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/8956","title":{"rendered":"Canada-October 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A week after we returned from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/8933\" target=\"_blank\">France<\/a> it was already time for me to leave for a month in Canada!\u00a0 I went home on my own so that we could save my husband\u2019s vacation days for things on this side of the pond and I could just go and chill with my parents.<\/p>\n<p>It was such a great month.\u00a0 There isn\u2019t a lot to do in Cape Breton but I wasn\u2019t there to be a tourist, rather just to spend time quality time with my mom and dad and see some old friends.\u00a0 We hung out, went to the movies a few times, mom and I knitted together and we went on some nice drives through the country.<\/p>\n<p>I also loved that I got to see more of my friends this time than I have in previous trips.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the highlights of my visit home were finally fitting into a plane seat with room to spare and the seatbelt being way too big,\u00a0 getting up and exercising in the morning with mom and dad, guitar lessons with dad, knitting and cooking together with mom, getting to see my father play for the first time in years (he\u2019s a musician), and riding a horse for the first time in over 15 years\u2026 yet another thing I\u2019ve not done in a long time due to my weight.<\/p>\n<p>I think October is the best time of year to visit Cape Breton!\u00a0 The leaves have changed, the scenery is beautiful but the weather hasn\u2019t gotten really cold yet, and all the Halloween and Christmas stuff is out already!\u00a0 It\u2019s my favorite time of year there!<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t bring my DSLR again this time and used my mobile and point and shoot for photos.\u00a0 Rather than spamming the post with photos I\u2019ve again decided to use a slideshow.\u00a0 Click on the photo if you want to see a description!<\/p>\n<p>If you are reading this via Google Reader or another feed reader and aren\u2019t able to see the slideshow, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/sets\/72157632439743425\/show\/\" target=\"_blank\">click here<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/slideShow\/index.gne?set_id=72157632439743425\" height=\"600\" width=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" align=\"middle\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not sure when I will be getting back home again, as a lot is up in the air for us in this coming year\u2026 but I\u2019m glad I got the time in this year and was able to have an entire month with my family!
