{"id":870,"date":"2008-05-03T09:56:31","date_gmt":"2008-05-03T07:56:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/870"},"modified":"2008-08-07T20:08:39","modified_gmt":"2008-08-07T18:08:39","slug":"exploring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/870","title":{"rendered":"Exploring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday myself, Hubby, Mom-in-Law, and Dog went exploring!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Sight Seeing Day 1 by Breigh.com, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/2460396263\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2342\/2460396263_8b9dfd523d_o.jpg\" alt=\"Sight Seeing Day 1\" width=\"490\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We followed the above route and saw a TON of stuff.\u00a0\u00a0 Some were planned, others were just lucky finds.\u00a0 Some were so awesome I&#8217;m not going to talk about them now because they totally deserve to have more time spent on them.<\/p>\n<p>The first place we stopped was no less awesome but I have to show it.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been waiting to see it with my own eyes since the first time I saw it on Discovery channel.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve seen how it was made, why it was made, before and after photos and everything else, but now I&#8217;ve seen it for real&#8230; life sized!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"millau1 by Breigh.com, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/2461290612\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3218\/2461290612_31c977d79d.jpg\" alt=\"millau1\" width=\"490\" height=\"326\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is the Millau Viaduct.\u00a0 One of the coolest things I&#8217;ve ever seen!\u00a0 It&#8217;s absolutely massive and there is on way to take a photo to reflect just how big it is.\u00a0\u00a0 It is higher than the Eiffel Tower, if that helps put it into perspective.\u00a0\u00a0 I had to climb this massive hill to get to the top and I was panting so hard and was cross-eyed from lack of oxygen, so I&#8217;m pretty stoked that I still managed to get some good photos of it.<\/p>\n<p>The bridge was built to stop the traffic from bombarding the town of Millau, which I also got a photo of on our travels.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"millau2 by Breigh.com, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/2460450795\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2370\/2460450795_5ae938723a.jpg\" alt=\"millau2\" width=\"490\" height=\"327\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a lovely little town ad we drove around it for ages while I tried to find a good spot to get a side view of the bridge to take photos, but I didn&#8217;t have much luck.\u00a0\u00a0 It was nice to see the town though, it&#8217;s very&#8230; French!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"tarnsmoke by Breigh.com, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/2460451231\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2316\/2460451231_a383ccebe5.jpg\" alt=\"tarnsmoke\" width=\"490\" height=\"327\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After leaving Millau we drove along the Riviere du Tarn, which was stunning in many spots.\u00a0 It was so clear you could see every little pebble in the bottom.\u00a0\u00a0 This spot in particular looked so inviting, but hubby and mom-in-law assured me that it was far to cold to swim in.\u00a0\u00a0 I should have gone to check for myself though because the Canadian in me believed that there was no way that bit of water was too cold for me.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"watermill by Breigh.com, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/2461286578\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3269\/2461286578_4041a958ff.jpg\" alt=\"watermill\" width=\"490\" height=\"314\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Along the way I saw this beautiful home.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a water mill I think, but I can&#8217;t believe anyone is actually lucky enough to live there.\u00a0 I mean is it possible to have a more amazing place to live?\u00a0 I could totally live there!\u00a0 Err.. as long as there was high speed internet available.<\/p>\n<p>We actually passed by that place without me being able to get a photo of it, and when we went a bit ahead and looked for a place to turn around, we ended up going along this FREAKING SCARILY NARROW mountainside road up to this old eleventh century church that people have made into a home.\u00a0 It looked a little weird though, because they had an in ground pool behind it. Sort of spoiled the effect.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"churchxi by Breigh.com, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/2460455397\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2376\/2460455397_11d6d56ed7.jpg\" alt=\"churchxi\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As I said, there were a few other places we saw, but I want to spend some more time on them a bit later because I have a ton of photos of them.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m trying to squeeze in time at the laptop whenever I can to work on the photos and get them sorted out, AND blog a little&#8230; but there is so much to do and see here.<\/p>\n<p>Today we are going to a big market here in Pezenas, then going to see the new house that mom-in-law bought.\u00a0 In the afternoon we are going to see the new apartment of bro-in-law and the we are going to check out a few more places I want to see.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday myself, Hubby, Mom-in-Law, and Dog went exploring!
