\"remote\"<\/a> Today I went to get a remote for my new phone so that I could use normal headphones, the ones that came with it are garbage.\u00a0 It’s not like a remote you use for the TV but a thing that plugs into the phone that you can plug your headphones into and it has all the buttons you need for answering a call, playing music and stuff.\u00a0\u00a0 Handy for when the phone is in my bag and I want to answer a call or something like that.<\/p>\n

Got it home, set it all up… damn thing didn’t work.\u00a0\u00a0 I called customer support for the place I bought it and they told me to take it back to the shop to have them look at it.<\/p>\n

Got to the shop, the guy checked a bunch of things, tried using it on his phone (he has the same kind, guy obviously has great taste) and it didn’t work.<\/p>\n

Then suddenly he says OH, look!\u00a0 I figured it out!!<\/p>\n

Turns out there’s a button (see the bottom one in the side on the pic) that says ‘HOLD’ and when you move it, it locks all the buttons on the remote.\u00a0 He giggled a little and I could tell he didn’t want to appear to be making fun of me.\u00a0 Unlike my husband who started laughing and yelling\u00a0 RTFM NEWB!!! HAHAHA<\/em><\/strong> (for those of you who aren’t massive geeks like he is, RTFM means Read The Fucking Manual)<\/p>\n

Uhhh, yeah… HOLD?\u00a0 What does hold tell you on a device for a phone?\u00a0 It means HOLD, like… hey hold on Brad Pitt is on the other line…. hold.\u00a0 Why on earth would I think the hold button means LOCK.<\/p>\n

RTFM my ass.\u00a0 He didn’t figure it out, the guy on the phone didn’t know and the guy at the shop took about 15 minutes to figure it out.\u00a0 I refused to be embarrassed about this.<\/p>\n
