On May 12th my husband and I celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary.\u00a0 It\u2019s still hard to believe we\u2019ve been together so long as I don\u2019t think either of us feel old<\/em> enough to have been married for 12 years. Wasn\u2019t it just a few years ago that we WERE 12?<\/p>\n

A few days before we were clearing out our storage room when we came across my wedding dress.\u00a0 Well, I use the term \u201cwedding dress\u201d very loosely.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t really what I imagine a wedding dress to be, but it was all I could find to fit me at the time.\u00a0 It was more of a \u201c*Sigh* It will have to do\u201d dress. It wasn\u2019t my dream dress and I did not feel pretty.\u00a0 I hated the way it felt, I hated the way it looked and truth be told, I was quite unhappy in it.\u00a0 I was, however, extremely happy to be marrying Xander<\/a>, so I chose to concentrate on that.<\/p>\n

As you can see from my selective crop back in the day, I couldn\u2019t even stand full length photos of me in the dress.\u00a0 We got married before the day of digital cameras so this was scanned from the original photo years ago.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll have to take my word on it.<\/p>\n

So, on our anniversary we decided that I should try the dress on and see just how much I have changed since that day 12 years ago.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t quite expecting the results I got\u2026<\/p>\n

Looking at it now, it looks like something you\u2019d wear to bed.\u00a0 It still makes me sad that instead of a beautiful wedding dress like all the girls dream of, that I wore something like this\u2026 BECAUSE IT FIT<\/em>.<\/p>\n

I am so glad that my days of wearing things I don\u2019t even particular like like, simply because I manage to find them in my size, are coming to an end.\u00a0 I hope I never have to live that way again and am going to do everything in my power to see that it never happens because it feels horrible.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s so weird though, I look at the dress in the photos and can clearly see that it\u2019s huge on me, yet I feel MUCH bigger now than I did when I wore it 12 years ago.\u00a0 When people say that it takes your head a while to catch up with what goes on in your body, they aren\u2019t kidding.\u00a0 It\u2019s so bizarre, seriously!<\/p>\n

I think I\u2019ll save it and try it on again next year!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
