\"Juno\"<\/a> Have any of you seen the movie Juno<\/a> yet?\u00a0 If not, you really have to check out the trailer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yesterday my friend Penny<\/a> came into town and we met up after work.\u00a0\u00a0 I get off early on Fridays so I worked through my lunch so I could get off even earlier so we could hang out.\u00a0\u00a0 She is way pregnant, with only 5 weeks left to go, so this was going to be her last trip into Rotterdam for a while.<\/p>\n

She’s been having massive whopper cravings, and lord knows it’s not hard to get me to go for a cheeseburger, so we went to Burger King for some sin food and gossip.\u00a0 Then puttered around town for a while before hopping a tram to the theater to see Juno.<\/p>\n

I heard about this movie a lot but wasn’t all that keen on seeing it.\u00a0\u00a0 I thought it would be something I’d just download, but since Penny was going to be in town and this would also be her last chance to catch a movie for a while… we decided to go.\u00a0\u00a0 I mean it was a good chick flick to go to with a girlfriend.<\/p>\n

I liked it so much more than I had anticipated.\u00a0 I think they chose the perfect people for the perfect roles, the storyline never bored me and the main character (Juno, played by Ellen Page) is such a sarcastic little shit, I loved her!<\/p>\n

… and that’s not just because she’s CANADIAN!\u00a0 Not just Canadian, but from Nova Scotia no less, where I come from (just in case you live under a rock or are a first time visitor and didn’t know).\u00a0\u00a0 How on earth this little girl from Halifax made her way up to being in this movie I’ll never know but I think she’s a fantastic actress and that we’ll be seeing her in a lot in the future.<\/p>\n

There were so many funny moments, but the one that made me laugh the loudest involved this quote:<\/p>\n

Doctors are sadists who like to play God and watch lesser people scream<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This was said by Bren, the character played by Allison Janney, whom I think is one of the most quirky and unique actresses out there (10 Things I Hate About You, The West Wing… etc) and can make anything sound funny.\u00a0\u00a0 Not sure why I found this to be so funny, but I howled and laughed.\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe I was on a sugar high…<\/p>\n

I’d go into more but then I’d have to quote entire conversations and I wouldn’t want to ruin any of it for anyone.<\/p>\n

If you’re a chick, go see this movie… I think you’ll love it.
\nIf you’re a guy, go see this movie with your chick, she’ll love YOU for it and there’s some eye candy for you here and there so it won’t be a complete loss.<\/p>\n
