I honestly can’t take in another thought today. It was my first day at my new job and it was so tiring. I spent the day with one of the girls I will be working with, watching her and having her explain things to me. We spent the whole day on what is only a portion of my job and I still have no friggin idea what I’m meant to be doing.<\/p>\n
I know this is just first day syndrome, and that everyone feels overloaded in the beginning. I keep reminding myself that everyone <\/em>feels this way on their first day, so I don’t totally wig out. I even put silly motivational quotes on my mobile phone so I can look at them and pump myself up.<\/p>\n I know, I’m such a loser.<\/p>\n The atmosphere is really good in the office, unless they are all putting on a good show for the new kid. The girls asked me to go out for drinks after work today! Yeah, I’m already calling them ‘the girls’ even though I don’t remember any of their names. I was way too tired though and my darling hubby had dinner ready and was waiting at home for me, so I promised them I would have lunch with them tomorrow and do the get to know you thing.<\/p>\n I figure I can get all the dirt out of them about what it’s really like to work there from day to day.<\/p>\n I have my own desk which is pretty big and looks way bare compared to the desks around me, but I will remedy that pretty soon.
