It’s been a while since I participated in the weekly photo hunt.\u00a0\u00a0 There’s no real reason, I’ve just kept forgetting about it.\u00a0\u00a0 This week’s theme is small<\/strong>, so I figured this would be a good time to introduce someone.<\/p>\n This is Phoenix, our Western Painted Turtle<\/a> (Chrysemys Picta Belli).\u00a0 We actually got him quite a while ago, but I’ve not mentioned it partly because people always give me shit about getting new pets, plus… I wanted to make sure he was strong and healthy and going to be with us for a long time.<\/p>\n The reason I’ve been so careful where Phoenix is concerned is because of Cupid<\/a>, a hatchling of the same species that died<\/a> a week after we took him home.\u00a0\u00a0 Cupid was a Valentine’s Day gift from Xander so he really meant a lot to me.\u00a0\u00a0 I also just really love the western painted turtles… their designs are very cool I think.<\/p>\n Phoenix is still going strong months later, so I’m not worried about him anymore.\u00a0\u00a0 I think he’s going to live a long and healthy life!<\/p>\n It’s been a while since I participated in the weekly photo hunt.\u00a0\u00a0 There’s no real reason, I’ve just kept forgetting about it.\u00a0\u00a0 This week’s theme is small, so I figured this would be a good time to introduce someone.
