{"id":7400,"date":"2011-09-16T07:50:31","date_gmt":"2011-09-16T05:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/?p=7400"},"modified":"2011-09-20T10:52:53","modified_gmt":"2011-09-20T08:52:53","slug":"cirque-de-moureze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/7400","title":{"rendered":"Cirque de Moureze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Cirque de Moureze\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/36166632@N00\/6151717175\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/6189\/6151717175_bdd050435f_b.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Cirque de Moureze\" width=\"610\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nOne day we visited the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.herault-tourisme.com\/articles\/the-cirque-de-moureze-36-2.html\" target=\"_blank\">Cirque de Moureze<\/a> which is a really unique area made of limestone rock that has eroded over time and left these giant pillars.\u00a0 It is quite impressive when you look at it!<\/p>\n<p>It was hotter than the 7th level of hell the day we were there and we were not at all prepared.\u00a0 When I looked it up I had this weird idea that it was something you drive up to and look out over the rocks.\u00a0 In reality, it\u2019s off the side of a little village and you can do all sorts of walking trails through the rocks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/image1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/image_thumb1.png\" border=\"0\" alt=\"image\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>I wore my most comfortable shoes (that I had brought with me, it was that or my flip flops!), which happened to be a pair of black mary jane Crocs (don\u2019t judge, those things are damn comfy!).\u00a0 I figured if there was any walking at all that these would be my best bet.<\/p>\n<p>SO WRONG!!<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever touched a tire that\u2019s been sitting in the sun all day?\u00a0 Have you walked on a sidewalk or sand that\u2019s been in the blazing sun all afternoon too?\u00a0 Well, put those things together and you get what was on my feet that day.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know what it is with me and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/6748\" target=\"_blank\">setting my feet on fire<\/a> but sweet baby Jesus, I was literally hopping!\u00a0 By the time I had walked from the car to where this billboard was, I was almost in tears.\u00a0 The black rubber shoes were soaking up the heat that was permeating from the rock and sand beneath my feet and I was literally like a cat on a hot tin roof.\u00a0 Of course, my husband thought this was hilarious, me?\u00a0 Not so much\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully my mother in law, who was with us at the time, and my husband also didn\u2019t have footwear on that was appropriate for hiking, so we decided we\u2019d just settle for this view and move on to our next destination.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Cirque de Moureze\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/36166632@N00\/6152221212\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/6072\/6152221212_4d32d747b0_b.jpg\" alt=\"Cirque de Moureze\" width=\"610\" height=\"850\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Cirque de Moureze\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/36166632@N00\/6152222532\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/6070\/6152222532_369ef166e0_b.jpg\" alt=\"Cirque de Moureze\" width=\"610\" height=\"399\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Cirque de Moureze\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/36166632@N00\/6152223660\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/6067\/6152223660_5efe5d204d_b.jpg\" alt=\"Cirque de Moureze\" width=\"610\" height=\"395\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Cirque de Moureze\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/36166632@N00\/6152224658\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 10px;\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/6062\/6152224658_8ed002986b_b.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Cirque de Moureze\" width=\"610\" height=\"882\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nApparently there are a few different walking trails that you can follow through the Cirque and if you are up to it there is even a part that you can climb up and get a great view of the surrounding area.\u00a0 After a quick peek through the village of Moureze we stopped to have an ice cream and were chatting with a British lady who had just done the hike with her dog,\u00a0 She said the view from up there was spectacular.<\/p>\n<p>This is definitely on my list of things to do on one of our future trips.\u00a0 Uhh, when we go in winter so it\u2019s not so hot, and I have better shoes on, and I\u2019m in better shape and \u2026.\u00a0 Ok, it might be a while!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One day we visited the Cirque de Moureze which is a really unique area made of limestone rock that has eroded over time and left these giant pillars.\u00a0 It is quite impressive when you look at it!
