{"id":728,"date":"2007-10-22T11:28:03","date_gmt":"2007-10-22T09:28:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/728"},"modified":"2010-05-24T22:25:15","modified_gmt":"2010-05-24T20:25:15","slug":"im-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/728","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m Here!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We made it to Canada safe and sound.\u00a0\u00a0 After a loonnnng time traveling  (approximately\u00a022 hours from our house to my parents) we are now in Canada and  finally adjusted to the time difference.\u00a0 It&#8217;s weird to look at the clock on my  laptop right now and see 11:05am when it&#8217;s 6:05am here.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve been pretty busy since I got home.\u00a0 The first night we got here it was  late and we pretty much went straight to bed, but then on Saturday we went and  did a bit of shopping, went to this haunted house thing and then Saturday night  some friends of mine had a party.\u00a0 Yesterday we went into Sydney to the flea  market and my parents drove us around to show us all that has changed since we  were here last, which was a lot!<\/p>\n<p>I have an absolute ton of pics but I haven&#8217;t had time to sit and get them off  my camera and sort them out.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m absolutely in love with my new camera though,  I definitely made the right choice picking the new Exilim.<\/p>\n<p>The only bad thing that has happened is that I got\u00a0a friggin&#8217; cold.\u00a0\u00a0 I  should have known I was doomed really.\u00a0 Xander had one before we left and I  thought I had caught it from him but I didn&#8217;t, then we came here in a flying  germ machine to see my mother who was sick with a cold.\u00a0\u00a0 After all the hugs and  kisses, I was coated in her cooties and it was only a matter of time.\u00a0\u00a0 At least  I can regress to when I was five years old and let my mommy take care of me!<\/p>\n<p>Today there is a massive cruise ship coming into Sydney, so we are going to  go there to see it and my mother says there is a big craft fair at the pavilion  where the ship is docked.\u00a0\u00a0Shit, I love craft fairs!\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to have to buy  another suitcase to take all the stuff I buy home.<\/p>\n<p>I love being home, I mean I REALLY love it.\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s so nice to be in my own  environment and see all the people I&#8217;ve been missing for so long.\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s weird  because I&#8217;m not used to everyone around me speaking English.\u00a0 When I go  somewhere like the supermarket, I don&#8217;t expect the cashier to speak to me in  English and my first instinct is to speak Dutch to her.\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s bizarre!\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m  also not at all used to running into people I know.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;ve just randomly run  into more people I know here in the last two days than I have in the last 6  months in Holland!<\/p>\n<p>Some things seem really foreign to me now though.\u00a0 Places that used to be a  day to day part of my life are noticeably odd now.\u00a0\u00a0 For example, yesterday we  went to this new big Wal-Mart that was built while I was gone.\u00a0\u00a0 The one that  was here before was big but this one is absolutely massive.\u00a0\u00a0 The size of the  products in the grocery stores seem huge.\u00a0 Everything is so&#8230; grand&#8230; here.\u00a0\u00a0  I think I&#8217;ve forgotten what that was like and am just totally accustomed to how  things are in the Netherlands now.<\/p>\n<p>Well I hear my parents coming in from their morning walk, time to start day  three!\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be back soon with pics!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We made it to Canada safe and sound.\u00a0\u00a0 After a loonnnng time traveling (approximately\u00a022 hours from our house to my parents) we are now in Canada and finally adjusted to the time difference.\u00a0 It&#8217;s weird to look at the clock on my laptop right now and see 11:05am when it&#8217;s 6:05am here.
