{"id":700,"date":"2007-08-23T19:26:28","date_gmt":"2007-08-23T17:26:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/700"},"modified":"2010-05-26T21:23:07","modified_gmt":"2010-05-26T19:23:07","slug":"the-wii-aint-for-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/700","title":{"rendered":"The Wii Ain&#8217;t For Me"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This past weekend Xander and I went to visit our friends Penny and Yuri.\u00a0 They are housesitting for Yuri&#8217;s boss here in Rotterdam and it&#8217;s been great having them so close.\u00a0 They live in Roosendaal, about a 35-40 minute drive from us, so we get together once every 1-2 weeks if we are lucky.<\/p>\n<p>The place they are housesitting\u00a0is like a mansion.\u00a0 Well, a Dutch city version of one anyway.\u00a0 It has 5 floors and really huge rooms, two massive kitchens, beautiful bathrooms and all the cool techy shit you could want&#8230; including the new Nintendo Wii.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Xander Playing Wii\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/1173275325\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1205\/1173275325_bf12865980.jpg\" alt=\"Xander Playing Wii\" width=\"381\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Xander will never be a tennis pro.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Xander and Yuri\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/1173274627\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1198\/1173274627_0cd23e8184.jpg\" alt=\"Xander &amp; Yuri\" width=\"406\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Neither of the boys were really that into it either.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/1192694403\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1363\/1192694403_dd4f9744db_m.jpg\" alt=\"Me Concentrating!\" width=\"240\" height=\"212\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a>I only played Zelda and didn&#8217;t quite get the point.\u00a0 You don&#8217;t even have to stand up, that&#8217;s not very Wii-like.\u00a0\u00a0 I thought you&#8217;d have to jump and swing and be all fighty as if you WERE the little Zelda dude but it was like playing it on any other game console.\u00a0 Meh.<\/p>\n<p>The game looked nice but it reminded me a lot of Fable.\u00a0 Not really worth spending all that money on a Wii.\u00a0 At least not in my opinion anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Note the frustrated look on my face.\u00a0 I was concentrating really hard trying to get these damn sheep into a barn, but it took me a min to realize I had to go to the guy first to get it to work so I spent about 15 minutes trying to herd them when there was no chance of it working.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/1174237068\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1168\/1174237068_884cef178b.jpg\" alt=\"Farty Baby\" width=\"443\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the way home we were behind this bus.\u00a0 I burst out laughing because it looks like the kid is lifting up to let out a big fart.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past weekend Xander and I went to visit our friends Penny and Yuri.\u00a0 They are housesitting for Yuri&#8217;s boss here in Rotterdam and it&#8217;s been great having them so close.\u00a0 They live in Roosendaal, about a 35-40 minute drive from us, so we get together once every 1-2 weeks if we are lucky.
