{"id":697,"date":"2007-08-17T07:35:51","date_gmt":"2007-08-17T05:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/697"},"modified":"2007-08-17T07:35:52","modified_gmt":"2007-08-17T05:35:52","slug":"little-chip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/697","title":{"rendered":"Little Chip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you remember a while back when we got <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/681\" target=\"_blank\">Sydney<\/a>&nbsp;(our new 3 Striped Mud Turtle) I mentioned that we had also wanted to get a Loggerhead Musk Turtle but had to wait for him to be ready to leave the breeder.&nbsp; Well, he was finally ready this past weekend and we went to pick him up.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/1082354195\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"188\" alt=\"Chip\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1415\/1082354195_1f1b5dd86b_m.jpg\" width=\"240\" align=\"left\"><\/a>His name is Chip and he&#8217;s adorable. He&#8217;s the exact same size as Sydney so they will be sharing a tank until they are a little bigger.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s still shy and hides a lot but he will settle in soon.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/1082352585\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"75\" alt=\"Chip's Belly\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1238\/1082352585_8ce78064c5_s.jpg\" width=\"75\"><\/a> <a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/1082353373\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"75\" alt=\"Chip\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1237\/1082353373_6e23eaa15b_s.jpg\" width=\"75\"><\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;m talking about turtles, I have a funny story to share&#8230;&nbsp;it makes me think of that horribly overused Forest Gump quote &#8216;Stupid is as Stupid does&#8217;.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Associated Press &#8211; August 14, 2007 8:55 AM ET <\/em><\/p>\n<p>MASSILLON, Ohio (AP) &#8211; A northeast Ohio man was arrested after he allegedly fired a gun at a turtle and accidentally shot himself in the foot. <\/p>\n<p>Massillon (MAS&#8217;-ih-lawn) police say the 24-year-old man is recovering. He&#8217;s facing a count of discharging a weapon within city limits. <\/p>\n<p>Police Sergeant Johnnie DiLoreto says the man caught the turtle during the weekend and attempted to shoot it. He missed the turtle, but shot himself in the foot. <\/p>\n<p>The man caught the turtle while fishing the Tuscarawas (tus-kuh-RAW&#8217;-uhs) River in Massillon.
