{"id":673,"date":"2007-06-29T08:06:10","date_gmt":"2007-06-29T06:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/673"},"modified":"2007-06-29T08:06:12","modified_gmt":"2007-06-29T06:06:12","slug":"14-years-already","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/673","title":{"rendered":"14 Years Already?!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/150414601\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"371\" alt=\"High School Grad Photo\" src=\"http:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/56\/150414601_22b0a09bae_o.jpg\" width=\"244\" align=\"left\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t believe that 14 years ago today I was spending my first day as a high school graduate.&nbsp; Has it really been that long? <\/p>\n<p>That means that 14 years ago yesterday was my high school graduation ceremony.&nbsp; It was about a thousand degrees out and I had a t-shirt and shorts on under that scratchy gown and thought I was going to die of the heat before it was over.<\/p>\n<p>I remember the massively long speech given by Dean Scott from UCCB, trying not to tip my head too much because unlike this photo I hadn&#8217;t made my hair huge to hold it on&#8230; and more than anything just waiting for it to finally be over.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>How can it be 14 years ago?&nbsp; It seems like just yesterday I was only 14 years old myself and was excited about going into high school, now it&#8217;s been that long since I left.&nbsp; This scares the shit out of me because 14 years from now I&#8217;ll be saying it seems like just yesterday that I was living in this flat&nbsp;Rotterdam and thinking about our some of our pets, who&nbsp;may have&nbsp;long since have passed by then&#8230; remembering how excited I was to be going home for a visit this year, and shaking my head to Xander (who I&#8217;ll have been married to for 21 years by that time)&nbsp;and laughing about some young, stupid thing we did around this time in our lives.<\/p>\n<p>My parents weren&#8217;t kidding when they said the older you get the faster the time seems to go.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t believe that 14 years ago today I was spending my first day as a high school graduate.&nbsp; Has it really been that long?
