This year my husband and I decided to do something different for Valentine\u2019s Day.\u00a0 Normally we don\u2019t really do much, just hang out and make a nice dinner, to go a movie or go out for something to eat.\u00a0 This year I saw that a Bollywood show was coming to the Luxor Theater<\/a> in Rotterdam and I really thought it might be fun.\u00a0 Xander agreed to go along but I think he wasn\u2019t quite sure of it.<\/p>\n

So come Valentine\u2019s Day we got gussied up a little and headed off to the theater to see what was waiting for us.<\/p>\n

\"Night<\/a><\/p>\n

A lady saw me with my camera out and kindly offered to take a photo of us together. That was nice of her!<\/p>\n

\"Night<\/a><\/p>\n

We left early enough so that we\u2019d be sure to have time to ditch our coats, have a drink and putter around a bit before the show began.\u00a0 Of course, I took that opportunity to take some photos of the crowd.<\/p>\n

I had one of those moments where I was thankful for having lost some weight while climbing the two thousand stairs to the first balcony.<\/p>\n

\"Bollywood<\/a><\/p>\n

It was shortly after I took this photo that the lights dimmed and the announcement came that photography is not allowed during the show.\u00a0 I was bummed.\u00a0 I knew it was coming, because it\u2019s pretty standard but I was wishing I knew how to turn off the LCD screen on my camera so I could try to sneak some during the show anyway.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be honest, once the show began there was no way I was going to risk it.\u00a0 It was that<\/em> good!\u00a0 No way was I going to take the chance of being asked to leave for something.<\/p>\n

The costumes were amazing, the music was great and the entire atmosphere was so incredibly energetic!\u00a0\u00a0 Xander and I were bopping in our seats, tapping our feet and sometimes even wiggling along with the music.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d like to take a minute to say that if there reincarnation does exist, I want to come back as a Bollywood dancer.<\/p>\n

I did get some photos at the end of the show when they were saying goodnight and getting their standing ovation, as I figured it didn\u2019t really matter.\u00a0 The first time I saw someone\u2019s flash (foolishly) going off, I whipped out that camera faster than you could say\u2026 anything.<\/p>\n

\"Bollywood<\/a><\/p>\n

I sort of wish they\u2019d had on their more traditional costumes in the end so I could have gotten some photos of them but that\u2019s not really where the story lead. It was about DISCO!\u00a0 I was surprised to see the amount of disco and hip hop type of moves mixed into the Bollywood dances throughout the show.<\/p>\n

\"Bollywood<\/a><\/p>\n

It was easy to see that we weren\u2019t the only ones that really enjoyed the show.\u00a0 In the end the crowd were all on their feet, some of them even dancing along!\u00a0 It was fantastic!<\/p>\n

I think if it had been playing more than one night in Rotterdam and I thought I could actually get tickets, I would have gone again.\u00a0 I enjoyed it so much.<\/p>\n

The best part?\u00a0 Xander enjoyed it too, must to his surprise!\u00a0 He raved about it the whole way home.<\/p>\n
