I wish that I had been smart enough to take advantage of growing up in a house with a man who spent his entire life playing the guitar.<\/p>\n

Music and playing the guitar are my father\u2019s biggest passions in life.\u00a0 I grew up watching him playing in bands and teaching the boys in the neighbourhood to play the guitar.<\/p>\n

He also taught my cousin Leanne, who I love even though she\u2019s sweet and gorgeous and can sing really well.<\/p>\n

\u2026 and is gorgeous.<\/p>\n

\u2026 and has a gorgeous baby<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2026 and can play the guitar when I can’t.<\/p>\n

I know he would have loved to teach me, and he did try once many years ago.<\/p>\n

I was about 16 and was all \u201cWhat do you mean I have to cut my nails?!\u201d<\/p>\n

I did agree to cut them, but then I was all like \u201cOW, my fingertips hurt!\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when he realized I was (am) a giant whineypants and gave up.<\/p>\n

Why? WHY did I not take the time to learn this while I had the chance?\u00a0 People all over the world pay a lot of money to have someone teach them to play the guitar, and I had a teacher living with me for 21 years.\u00a0 I\u2019m pretty sure if I knew how to play the guitar I could accompany myself and the people would recognize my talent<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maybe when I am home next I\u2019ll get him to teach me, it\u2019s not like he\u2019s gone anywhere and he is still playing and teaching the guitar.<\/p>\n

Then again, I\u2019d have to cut my nails<\/a>, so uhhh\u2026 maybe I\u2019ll just learn to play the harmonica instead. Anyone know how to play that?<\/p>\n

Come to think of it, I did play a mean triangle in elementary school. \u00a0I could probably pick that up again…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
