If you remember, a while back I read a few<\/a> books<\/a> by Kathy Reich’s. The books were about a forensic anthropologist named Temperance Brennan.   I didn’t like the books at all and I really didn’t like the main character.   I found it weird because the books got so many great reviews but I ranked them among the worst I’ve read.  <\/p>\n

When my friend Shirley Ann<\/a> told me how great the TV show Bones<\/a> is I turned my nose up at it because I knew that the show was based on these books.  She was so adamant about it though that I decided to download the first season and check it out.   It didn’t hurt that guy from angel is in it as well… at least if the show sucked I’d have some eye candy.<\/p>\n

I’m quite surprised by the show, I think I like it.   The main character is the same, but she isn’t exactly like in the books.   She’s independent and socially awkward but she isn’t as obnoxiously<\/em> independent and abrasive.<\/p>\n

She’s also younger.  In the books she’s middle aged with a broken marriage and a child, but in the TV shows she’s in her 30’s with no children and no mention of a broken marriage yet.   She also has more support characters in the TV show which adds a bit of charm to it that was missing in the books.<\/p>\n

Usually I tend to find that movies and TV shows don’t really live up to the books they are based on, like The Da Vinci Code<\/a>.  Bones is quite the opposite though, the TV show has much more to offer than the books do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
