{"id":527,"date":"2006-10-24T07:11:53","date_gmt":"2006-10-24T05:11:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/527"},"modified":"2006-10-24T07:11:54","modified_gmt":"2006-10-24T05:11:54","slug":"ewww-worms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/527","title":{"rendered":"Ewww Worms!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/275210244\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"165\" alt=\"fishsick4\" hspace=\"10\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/79\/275210244_1152188260_m.jpg\" width=\"240\" align=\"left\"><\/a> Ugh, my guppies have parasites!<\/p>\n<p>I have been keeping guppies and trying to breed them as feeder fish for my turtles.&nbsp; As you can see, this poor dude has been chased a few times and the turtles did manage to catch his tail.<\/p>\n<p>The other day I noticed these white things on a few of the fish (which look greenish brown in the photo for some reason) and after looking it up online and taking him to the pet shop to have them look it, it turns out they have <strong>Anchor Worms<\/strong> &#8211; ugh!!<\/p>\n<p>Fuck me, if it isn&#8217;t my luck that this would happen.&nbsp; Apparently they are most common in pond fish like Koi and are fairly rare in guppies.&nbsp;&nbsp; I think they were carried in on some pond plants I got for the turtle tank though.&nbsp; *swears profusely*<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" src=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/blogpics\/mealworms.jpg\" align=\"right\">It&#8217;s funny because I&#8217;ll actually pick up THESE worms (mealworms) every day to feed them to my hedgehog and am not fussed by it at all.&nbsp; Yet these parasites on my fish totally creep me the fuck out!! I don&#8217;t even have to touch them and they make me itchy all over.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully these appear to be parasites that my turtles can&#8217;t catch.&nbsp; Had the guppies been able to pass them on to the turts, I would have been pissed.&nbsp;&nbsp; For now I have quarantined the fish (along with a whole batch of new baby guppies argh) in my 60L tank but still have to treat both tanks with this anti parasite shit.<\/p>\n<p>It had better work or I&#8217;m flushing the bastards and starting over.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ugh, my guppies have parasites!
