{"id":491,"date":"2006-09-22T07:31:07","date_gmt":"2006-09-22T05:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/491"},"modified":"2006-09-22T07:34:45","modified_gmt":"2006-09-22T05:34:45","slug":"turtle-yoga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/491","title":{"rendered":"Turtle Yoga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Usually the turtles will slide off their basking spot if they see you coming.&nbsp; That&#8217;s how they got their name&#8230; sliders.&nbsp; Frick! is a Yellow Belly Slider and Radar is a Red Ear Slider.&nbsp; They bask in the sun (or under a heat lamp in this case) and if they see anyone coming they just slide off into the water.<\/p>\n<p>Last night though, Frick! let me get close enough to take a photo of him doing his turtle yoga under the light.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p> <center><a title=\"Photo Sharing\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/breigh\/249538201\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"327\" alt=\"Turtle Yoga\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/94\/249538201_d0286559cd.jpg\" width=\"500\"><\/a><\/center> <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;He obviously was keeping a very close eye on me, to make sure I wasn&#8217;t up to no good, but it definately shows that he is getting more used to having me around. <\/p>\n<p>The other night I noticed Radar trying to bite him. That worried me quite a lot as I know RES turtles can get sort of aggressive at times. I&#8217;ve posted on a few different turtle forums asking advice. Some have suggested that we seperate them, which isn&#8217;t really an option as we don&#8217;t have another tank. <\/p>\n<p>If it continues we are going to have no choice but to take Radar back where we got him and keep Frick! alone. Which isn&#8217;t a problem for Frick!, as it turns out turtles are more solitary than social.
