Steve Irwin is dead.<\/p>\n

If you are like me, you’re probably saying? Who?!<\/i>. At least that’s what I said when I woke up this morning and Xander told me the news. Not many people really know him by his real name, when xander said ‘The crocodile hunter guy’, it immediately hit me.<\/p>\n

Wow… the first thing I thought of was his family. He has a wife and two small children who were left behind… Not to mention all the people who are involved in his shows, his zoo and so on. How heartbreaking it must be for them.<\/p>\n

So many people found him irritating, but I loved this guy. He loved animals and devoted his entire life to them… He has seen and done things that most of the rest of us will never do and has done a lot for the protection of wild animals.<\/p>\n

Australian media reports say Irwin was diving in waters off Port Douglas, north of Cairns, when the incident happened on Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Irwin, 44 was killed by a stingray barb that went through his chest, according to Cairns police sources. Irwin was filming an underwater documentary at the time.<\/p>\n

Ambulance officers confirmed they attended a reef fatality Monday morning off Port Douglas, according to Australian media. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It’s true, he was killed doing what he loved most… observing wildlife. The story is all over the news<\/a> and as shocking as it is, I don’t think anyone is surprised to hear that he died in this way… he risked his life every day doing what he does, and he knew the chances of something like this happening.<\/p>\n
