They need sunshine and regular wallows in a mud pool to keep their skin healthy. But in winter, when temperatures often dip below freezing, the mud pool is far too cold and they are kept in a stable.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Northern Zoo in Emmen, the Netherlands, the animals&#8217; skin problems can be cured with the sunbed treatments. The rhinos, who are 32 and 23 year old, spend up to 20 minutes at a time using the custom built 13-foot-long sunbed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At least I know I&#8217;m not alone&#8230; haha  The lack of sunlight in the Netherlands is affecting everyone now, even the animals!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just saw this article I had to blog again immediately.
