My throat isn’t sore anymore but I’m really tired and my nose is stuffy. It’s 4pm now though and I don’t really want to sleep this late in the day. The cats have been a pain in the ass again the last few nights so my sleep time has been interrupted consistantly.I swear I’m so easily lead. Today I was a little late getting ready for school and was rushed leaving. I hopped the number 2 tram which took me up to the big MacDonalds intersection where I could get the 25 tram to take me to my bus stop. Just as I was getting off the nr. 2 I saw that the 25 tram would be there in 5 minutes. Then I heard someone yelling “Hey! Hey!”. When I turned around it was this guy from my class and he was motioning for me to run back into the nr 2. I didn’t get why he wanted me to do that because it doesn’t even go near where we needed to go. He kept insisting though so I thought maybe he knows something I don’t. He kept saying “Sneller Sneller!” and I figured hey great, maybe if this is faster I can stay at home a few more minutes in the morning.

I get on the tram and it’s jampacked. I’m trying to blow my nose and hold onto the rail so I don’t fall over each time the tram stops and starts. At this point I’m thinking he better know one hell of a good secret or I’m gonna be pissed. Afterall I could just be sitting on the 25 tram minding my own business and relaxing. We get the nr. 2 to Masshaven Metro station where he tells me to follow him. He runs to the metro (subway) stop and the metro isn’t even there. So we have to wait about 5-10 minutes. At this point I’m thinking what the hell I would be on the 25 tram and almost at the bus by now!

The metro arrives and there’s so many people in it that I’m already starting to get wound up from my “Too many people, too little air” phobia. I start to sweat, my nose is running even more and I can barely move to get the tissue out of my pocket because each time I try I’m elbowing people. We’re on the metro for about 15 minutes which lets us off at Stadhuis metro stop which is one stop away from where I’d get off the nr. 25 tram. He starts running up the stairs (because the escalator was broken.. figures) and I’m trying to keep up, trying to breath and trying to sniff all the gunk that is trying to escape my head back up for just a few minutes longer..

As I looked at the tram stop by where we came out the number 20 tram was there, which was 5 minutes AFTER the one I would have gotten. So that means that after all that arsing around, I arrived like 10 minutes later than I would have if I’d just hopped on the one tram I planned to. God, some shortcut… Men!!

So what has this little adventure taught me?
