So for those of you with Gmail<\/a> who love getting email as much I do but have not been using the Gmail address because you’re too lazy to check it all the time. You’re in luck! They have finally come out with an automatic mail check thing for windows that checks your Gmail! You can find it here<\/a>! I’ve changed the mail for my website to Gmail and will probably use it for more things now that I can leave the auto checker on. I’m so lazy.<\/p>\n

Right now I’m watching Monster House Makeovers<\/a> which has been on for a few weeks here in Holland. I believe in the US it’s just called Monster House<\/em>. I love any makeover show really, whether it’s the plastic surgery shows, house makeovers or what, it doesn’t matter. This show is especially cool though as they always seem to have some kind of theme that they do the house over in.<\/p>\n

I’ve decided to start up my own little business. Well, not a business as such, rather just a way to make some money. I hated working at GDCC and I didn’t last very long there. Purely English jobs are so hard to come by here but I’ve been so tired of not contributing. I was speaking with a woman from Boston who is living in Amsterdam and is doing pet sitting\/dog walking to make money. When she told me about it I thought.. “oh my god why didn’t I think of that?!”. What better way for an animal lover like me to make some extra cash!<\/p>\n

So I thought about it for a while and decided to put an ad on an expat website I visit sometimes. Today I was just “hired” for my first gig. I will be housesitting for a couple in Den Haag while they go to London for four days. They have two beautiful dogs and a lovely home. We went to meet the lady of the house and the dogs on Wednesday and it was nice. Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet her husband as he’s in India for work at the moment.<\/p>\n

Anyhow I will spend the four days in their home entertaining their pets and keeping the house in order for their return, as they are bringing company back with them from London. I’m pretty excited about it and it feels good to know I’ll be doing something to help bring in some money as well. Hopefully they will be pleased and will pass my name on to other friends etc. I hear this type of job generally goes by word of mouth. You take good care of someone’s babies and they tell their friends, and so on.<\/p>\n

I hope to do most of the pet sitting out of our house, people bringing them here and leaving them with me while they go away, but I’m not totally against visiting their houses as well if they prefer it. Either way it’s a nice way for me to have an income, even if it is a small one. Also it’s good because I can make my own schedule as I will be starting school soon for my Dutch lessons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
