Another trip down memory lane for me. Today I was reading Tanya’s Blog<\/a> and am once again about to steal material from her. hehe It was such good timing that I saw this after my recent post about The Facts of Life. For some reason I’ve been thinking a lot lately about when I was a kid. The TV shows I watched, the games I played, the kids I knew.. I wonder if it’s just random or if it has something to do with the fact that this is the year I will be turning 30. Either way, I know I’d give damn near anything to be a kid again. Of course, wouldn’t we all?<\/p>\n

Anyhow, this is what I swiped from Tanya’s blog. I’ll do like she did and bold the ones that make ME<\/em><\/strong> a child of the 80’s.<\/p>\n

Three words: M.C. Hammer<\/strong> (I wore the M.C Hammer pants.. gah)<\/p>\n

You thought it would be great to have a friend named “Boner”<\/p>\n

You can sing the entire theme song to “Duck Tales”<\/p>\n

If you played the chipmunks Christmas album all year long<\/p>\n

Remember reading Kool-Aid man comics<\/p>\n

You ever watched Fraggle Rock<\/strong> (I still know the words to the Theme Song!)<\/p>\n

You had plastic streamers on the handle bars of your bike<\/strong> (Strawberry Shortcake bike with a banana seat!)<\/p>\n

You remember When it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons<\/strong> (A few years ago I asked a friend’s little sister if she watches the smurfs. She didn’t know what they were.)<\/p>\n

You wore a pony tail to the side of your head – HOW EMBARASSING!

\nYou saw the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the big screen<\/strong><\/p>\n

You got super-excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school<\/p>\n

You wore a Jordache jean jacket and you were proud of it<\/p>\n

Your mother wouldn’t let you have garbage pail kids<\/strong> (Bolded this, but she did let me have them, I had tons!)<\/p>\n

You remember the craze, and then banning of slap bracelets<\/p>\n

You still get the urge to use “NOT” at the end of every statement you make<\/strong> (I still DO sometimes!)<\/p>\n

You remember Hypercolor T-shirts<\/strong> (Was the first gift I ever gave my first boyfriend)<\/p>\n

Barbie and the Rockers was your favorite band<\/p>\n

You remember Punky Brewster<\/strong> (Just looked up the theme song to this show yesterday!)<\/p>\n

You loved Howard the duck<\/strong><\/p>\n

You thought Sheera and He-Man should hook up<\/strong><\/p>\n

You thought your childhood friends would never leave because you exchanged “friendship bracelets”<\/strong> (AND the safety pins with the beads on them that we used to put all over our clothes and shoes!)<\/p>\n

You ever owned a pair of Jelly Shoes<\/strong> (They went great with my neon clothes!)<\/p>\n

After you saw Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure you couldn’t top saying “I know you are but what am I?”*<\/strong> (Still do!)<\/p>\n

You remember “I’ve fallen…and I can’t get up!”<\/strong><\/p>\n

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates<\/strong> (I remember my mother making me wear a big white hockey helmet too!)<\/p>\n

You ever got seriously injured on a slip and slide<\/strong><\/p>\n

You know not to mix poprocks and soda (but did it anyway!)<\/strong> (This myth was busted on Myth Busters not long ago! Although I busted it when I was like, ten)<\/p>\n

You had or went to a birthday party at McDonald’s<\/strong> (They always had the best cakes! .. and we got to make our own sundae’s!)<\/p>\n

You know what it meant to say “care bear stare!!” and you had a favorite<\/strong><\/p>\n

You remember Rainbow Bright and My Little Pony Tale!
