{"id":2142,"date":"2009-04-30T11:06:07","date_gmt":"2009-04-30T09:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/?p=2142"},"modified":"2010-05-31T23:45:05","modified_gmt":"2010-05-31T21:45:05","slug":"i-know-i%e2%80%99ll-laugh-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadutch.nl\/blog\/archives\/2142","title":{"rendered":"I Know I\u2019ll Laugh Tomorrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2026 but for today, I\u2019m all about the grrrrr.<\/p>\n<p>Another amusing, yet frustrating, addition to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/spats\" target=\"_blank\">Stupid Spats<\/a> section of my site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Honden Niet Uitlaten<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This morning my husband was going out with the dogs for their morning walk.\u00a0 He asked me if I wanted to join him and I decided this would be a good chance for me to get some photos of the dogs.\u00a0\u00a0 After my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breigh.com\/wordpress\/archives\/2104\" target=\"_blank\">back fiasco<\/a> last week, I realized it\u2019d be a better idea to try when someone else could hold the dogs, so I could hold the camera.<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward about a half hour.\u00a0 The dogs have done their business and we are heading to a nearby park.\u00a0\u00a0 There is a playground there for the children where there is also a log next to it between the playground and some grass.\u00a0\u00a0 I see this as my perfect opportunity to get some nice photos of the dogs, and start to explain to him as we are walking towards it.<\/p>\n<p>I explain that since my back is still a bit sore, squatting down to take photos of the dogs (since it\u2019s better to get from their eye level) still hurts, but with the log next to the grassy area, I can sit and get photos easier.\u00a0 Simple, right?<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when he sees the sign, and anything I\u2019d said went straight out of his head.\u00a0 <strong>Honden Niet Uitlaten, <\/strong>which to me means <em>do not let your dogs do their business here \u2013 this is where our children play<\/em>!\u00a0\u00a0 Fair enough, but we were safe seeing as the dogs have already been drained and even if Bailey <em>did<\/em> lift his leg to something, it was no more than a threat anyway.\u00a0 So I figured it was safe to walk the dogs onto the grass (on their leads) and get them to sit for a sec for some photos.<\/p>\n<p>To Xander, the sign meant\u2026 do not, under any circumstances let your dog step a single paw on this patch of grass.\u00a0 If you do, you will be punished to the fullest extent of the law\u2026\u00a0 and by the fullest extent of the law, we mean we will nail your balls to this log and leave you here to die.<\/p>\n<p>REFUSED.\u00a0 Absolutely refused.\u00a0 Once he saw that sign that was it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I stood there and argued that the sign didn\u2019t mean the dogs weren\u2019t allowed to just walk a few steps onto the grass for a minute, it means that they want their children to be able to play without fear of them coming home covered in dog shit.<\/p>\n<p>REFUSED.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBUT HONEY IT\u2019S JUST A FEW STEPS! I Just need you to hold them for a second while I try to get some pics of them!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then started demanding that we take the photos on the area where dogs <em>are<\/em> allowed and insisted that there was no difference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHello?!\u00a0 My back?\u00a0 Remember that long winded explanation as we were walking up to the playground.\u00a0 Log = sitting, squatting = OW?!\u00a0\u00a0 DO YOU HEAR THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH?!\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 (Ok I didn\u2019t actually say that part but I should have, because I would have done Chris Tucker proud, it was the perfect moment for it).<\/p>\n<p>He still didn\u2019t hear me though.\u00a0 It was like I wasn\u2019t even speaking.\u00a0 He kept on arguing about going over to the grass that the dogs <em>are<\/em> allowed on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s grass they are allowed to SHIT on, they are allowed to WALK on any of it!\u201d, I argued.<\/p>\n<p>Refused.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when I gave up.\u00a0\u00a0 He wasn\u2019t going to help and there was no way I was going to try the 2 dogs + 1 camera thing again.\u00a0\u00a0 So I proceeded to walk 3x as fast as him the whole way home, while telling him off over my shoulder the entire time.\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m sure the neighbours probably thought I was nuts, and maybe they are right, but I didn\u2019t get to Psychoville on my own, I had a ride.<\/p>\n<p>I love him, I love so many things about him, but today\u2026 yeah, not a fan.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t think I need to explain why no photos are accompanying this entry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>P.S.<\/strong>\u00a0 When I told my husband I was writing this blog he responded\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t make me look like too much of an idiot!\u00a0 It\u2019s not like I write on my blog about you when you do stuff!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPMS has started, woke up to watch wife\u2019s head spin around three times\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDay 2 \u2013 Chocolate supplies have run out, have run to nuclear bunker for refuge\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when I was laughing so hard I stopped hearing the rest.\u00a0 See, now I\u2019d think that was funny!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2026 but for today, I\u2019m all about the grrrrr.
