Have you ever had a project in mind but were just waiting for the perfect yarn to jump out at you?\u00a0\u00a0 If so, then you will understand my recent experience with the Dreambird<\/a> pattern on Ravelry<\/a>.\u00a0 I first saw it ages ago but just wasn\u2019t sure what colors I wanted to do it in, what yarn was going to work or if I was even up to the challenge of all those short rows.\u00a0 So I stuck it on my favorites list and decided to wait until the time was right.<\/p>\n

I initially thought I would like to do it in some really bold colors, like a black background with really bright rainbow colored feathers but then it happened, the right yarn came along, which wasn’t what I first had in mind but all the pieces fell into place and I was in love.\u00a0 They almost seemed TOO<\/em> perfect, there was no way this project could possibly live up to the image I had in my head.<\/p>\n

Trying to get a photo that would show the richness and beauty of the colors in this yarn was next to impossible.\u00a0 They still look freaking fantastic in this pic (if I do say so myself) but they are even better when you see them for real, so rich and fall-like. \u00a0The\u00a0colors\u00a0are\u00a0a little more toned down than in the above photo.\u00a0 I seriously almost went bananas when I opened the box after they arrived. \u00a0The\u00a0color combination is\u00a0so different from what I first imagined for this project, going from a black background to a more speckled beige, but when I saw these two together, I knew it was right.<\/p>\n

Oh my word, it\u2019s even better! \u00a0I mean seriously, how gorgeous is this and I’ve not even gone through all the colors yet. \u00a0I had to put it down at this point and force myself away from it because I have a lot of things to do before leaving on holiday this weekend\u2026. but you can bet your butt\u00a0that it\u2019s coming with me! \u00a0There’s no way I’m leaving this behind.<\/p>\n

I enjoy mostly every project I work on, but there\u2019s something about this one that has me especially thrilled. I get the feeling this is going to be really special.<\/p>\n
