Well, not me personally\u2026 but my mother\u2019s cross stitch has! err.. or will be.\u00a0 There\u2019s a pattern I\u2019ve wanted to do for a long time called Aunt Verdi’s Porch<\/a> by Paula Vaughan.\u00a0\u00a0 I had mentioned it to my mother a few times and when I was home in Canada in October she showed me that she had actually done it for me!<\/p>\n

We were going to get it framed in Canada but thought it might take up some valuable luggage space so I took the mounted cross stitch back with me and said I\u2019d find someone to frame it.\u00a0 Which I finally did yesterday!\u00a0 It only took me almost a year!<\/p>\n

This is a photo I took to show my mother the frame and mat I chose for it\u2026 you can also see the great work she did on the project!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s going to take two weeks for me to get it back and I can\u2019t wait to get it home and hang it!\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m getting a double mat on it and glass to protect it of course.<\/p>\n

I really love the Paula Vaughan patterns with the quilts in them.\u00a0 They are just so nice.\u00a0 One day I am going to get around to doing one of them myself.\u00a0\u00a0 My mother liked this one so much she plans to do it again<\/em> for herself.<\/p>\n

I took some photos of other small projects I worked on over the last little while.<\/p>\n

The two above aren\u2019t something I\u2019d have framed professionally, but I think I\u2019ll have a go at framing them myself.\u00a0 They are cute!<\/p>\n

This one I plan to do something a little different with.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to get some various rusty colored fabrics and make a quilted border to go around it and hang it in my kitchen.<\/p>\n

That is, if I ever get around to it.\u00a0 It may be tucked in the folder in the cupboard where it is now for years.<\/p>\n

I just got the materials for my next project which is a cross stitch of a quilt, which I thought was sort of interesting since I enjoy quilting<\/a> too\u2026 even though I\u2019ve still not completed the sampler quilt<\/a> I started many moons ago.<\/p>\n

This is the project I am about to start:<\/p>\n

I figure I\u2019ll be pulling my hair out before long, as there is a lot of bits of different colors, but I like it.\u00a0 It\u2019s sort of like my two favorite crafts rolled up into one, cross stitching and quilting.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll frame it differently though, I don\u2019t really like that weird wood frame they have on it in the example photo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
