Saturday Photo Hunt – Important

OHMYFREAKINGOD!  I don’t know whether to laugh or cry…

I was just sitting here wondering what photo to use for this week’s them, when I heard a big kerfluffle from the other end of the room.  I looked over just in time to see Spencer the devil cat sailing through the air and landing in one of my turtle tanks!   He’s done this before (see previous link) but I was so stunned I didn’t catch him on camera.

This time I knew better!

Why it's important to cover your tanks

Judging by the fact that my turtle was hiding under the big rock in the middle, and that the fish all gathered on the left there under the basking area, I’m thinking Spencer does this quite often.   Only he usually isn’t stupid enough to do it when we are in the room.

He leapt from the dining room table into the basking area of Stelo’s tank where I guess he had plans on doing a little fishing.   I will probably never know though because he was BUSTED and he knew it!

Why it's important to cover your tanks

He then clumsily made his way out of the tank and scuttled off somewhere that I probably couldn’t reach him.   Over the years he’s found ‘safe spots’ where he knows I can’t fit / reach him when he’s done something bad.  He really is Satan, I’m sure of it.

SO, for this week’s theme I’m showing why it is so IMPORTANT to always put a full cover on your turtle tanks!

GOD GIVE ME STRENGTH!

  4. Aaack! In the first photo I thought the cat was actually UNDER WATER and I couldn’t figure out how you could’ve taken the time to get the camera. Ha ha! (I feel so much better now…) ;)

  8. Oh my,Spencer is one naughty kitty..lol

  9. Spencer is such a big cat. I don’t blame the fishes and the turtle for hiding from him.

  10. Naughty cat!! While I of course wanted no harm to come to any fish or turtles, I was hoping you’d catch him in the act and get a photo after reading the last post, it’s hilarious seeing a cat in a tank! He photographs well in there, being ginger… and the whole CAT in a TANK thing, tehehe. Now you have the incriminating evidence though, I hope that naughty Spencer stays out for good!

  11. That cat is amazingly beautiful! I also really like your terrarium/fish tank set up. I would love to have something like that! We had a marmelaide kitty who loved to curl up in our hermit crab’s house. Cats – everybody needs one!
