Devil Cat Strikes Again!

Yes, it’s another tale of the Devil Cats!

I recently set up my 72 liter tank for breeding feeder guppies for my turtles.  I placed it next to a shelving unit in my livingroom, which is next to my 180 liter tank that holds my 1-inch Eastern Painted turtle, Stelo.

Stelo has a pretty kickass basking area on his tank, I’ve posted about it in the past but here’s a photo reminder.

For those who aren’t familiar with turtles, they need an area that they can climb out on and dry off and warm up.  There are heat and UV lamps over the basking area for when they come out of the water.

SpencerYesterday morning I got out of bed and walked into the livingroom.  I glanced over at Stelo’s tank just to find this little spawn of Satan staring back at me through the glass.

He had climbed from the fish tank, over the shelving unit and into the turtle tank where he curled up on the basking platform for a nap!  It scared the bejesus out of me!

I wish I’d thought to grab the camera and get a photo before freaking and yanking him out of there, but I was more concerned with getting him out and making sure my little turtle was still in there and unharmed.   He was fine once he came out of hiding so I gather Spencer spent some time fishing while he was in there.  The little bastard.

I’ve moved the fish tank, so hopefully I’ve taken away his ability to get up there in the future.  If he does though, you can be sure I’ll have the camera ready this time!
