I Have a Kitchen!

Hooray! :)   Our kitchen is here and installed and I’m soooo happy!!  There still needs to be some plastering, painting and tiling but the best bits are done.

Here’s a some before and afters:

After seeing the kitchen together finally, I’ve changed my mind YET AGAIN about the tiles.  The ones I had picked out before just don’t seem to suit the kitchen, so I’m looking again.  I think I might go for something white but god only knows if I’ll stick with that plan.   I can’t paint until I know what tiles I’m going to use.  So the kitchen project is at a bit of a standstill at the moment.

Today I’m moving all our stuff back into the kitchen.  Filling up the cupboards and fridge.  Here’s the best bit…

WOOOOT!! DISHWASHER!!!!!!!!!  I love having a dishwasher!  My prayers have been answered! Yaaaay!

The only problem is our boiler.  Once the cupboards were up we realized it wasn’t centered between the two cupboards.  So we are going to have to either take it down and move it to the right a bit to center it or try to find some skinny shelving unit that can be placed in there to take up the space.   I’m leaning more towards moving the boiler… we’ll see.

If you want to see more pics of the kitchen renovation project look here on the Flickr set.

  4. Yay! It’s so briht and pretty! And you can get your stuff out of the living room!

Will Bailey stand in the dishwasher like Gus now? :)

  5. It looks great! Did you know that you can switch to a different boiler that fits in a cupboard? We got one that’s flat and can be put away. Not sure which energy supplier you’re with by have a look.

I have plain white tiles behind my kitchen, but I’m thinking of changing them and putting in mirrors to make the space seem bigger. I saw this at a friend’s house and it looks awesome! You just get mirrors cut to fit the area.

    Enjoy the dishwasher :)
