Ain’t Love Grand

Ten Reason Why I Love My Husband
  • He GETS me. We are almost always on the same wavelength and if I’m happy, sad, angry or frustrated he truly listens to me and understands why.
  • He is has an abundance of patience, which makes up for my complete lack of it. Together we have the perfect balance.
  • He is strong, but sensitive. I never doubt that I am with a man, yet he isn’t a total macho man that I can’t relate to.
  • He is funny.. he can be a total goof sometimes, which makes me laugh.. sometimes without even meaning to.
  • He is a geek and can appreciate that I am one too.
  • He’s more thoughtful than any man I’ve ever known. Whether it’s finding an English Cosmo mag for me to browse through, bringing home my favorite flowers or carving our soon-to-be thrown out carpet into a message of love (which he just did today, so I had to get a pic!). He never fails to make me feel 100% loved and appreciated.
  • He kisses me goodbye every morning before he leaves for work, and kisses me goodnight every night before we got to sleep. Every single day since the day we met.
  • He tells me he loves me, that I’m beautiful and he looks at me the same way today as he did the first day we met. He also makes me believe he’ll look at me this way in 50 years.
  • He is himself, he has his own thoughts and opinions and doesn’t change them for anyone. No matter what anyone thinks.. he knows who he is.
  • He is intelligent and I learn things from him every day.

Today he did something (see the above pic) that made me smile, and I got to thinking about all the things he does like this and how he hasn’t changed since the beginning of our relationship. I hear women complain so often about how their men grow bored with them after a few years, that they stop making the sweet gestures they made in the beginning. They feel like their men look through them and forget how wonderful things once were, they feel unappreciated. This is something I’ve never felt, and doubt I ever will.

These are just a few things out of a million examples of what I love about him… I suspect I’ll find at least a few million more during our lives together.

  1. You’re so right, he totally would. :) I’m sure you get what I’m talking about! David is no different, from what I hear :D

  2. Awwww!!!!

(Good thing your name isn’t Elizabeth or Condoleeza or something equally long! But Xander’s probably patient enough to carve out any name, yes.)
