Spring

Yesterday I was talking to a friend and showing him some pics of Cape Breton when I found this pictures online of North Sydney, the town I come from. I felt homesick but it didn’t take me over like it would have in the past. It’s been so long since I’ve lived there, almost 9 years now. It’s hard to believe it was that long ago that I was 21 and starting out on a new life of my very own. I wonder what I would have said if someone had told me then that I’d meet the love of my life and move to Europe in just a few years.

Spring officially started on Sunday, and already the sky is blazing, I took this photo from my diningroom window at about 6:30pm this evening. The days have been beautiful this week, reaching temperatures into the high teens! I love this because finally I can wear my no-sock shoes. I hate sock and the sooner I can stop wearing them the better. I love how quickly the weather starts getting nice here in the Netherlands, back in Cape Breton it’s MUD season.. sure as hell don’t miss that! The grass is still green here, the trees are blooming! I love spring!! (It seems like just yesterday I was screaming “I LOVE THE FALL!”)
