Pet Turkey

Who keeps a turkey as a pet? Does this seem like a weird question or are turkeys just a regular ol’ pet and nobody told me? Yesterday we went for a drive around Millville and through the country, while we were driving along we see this:

Pet Turkey Pet Turkey

These people had this massive turkey on their front step! Truly, the pics do it no justice.. this was like JURASSIC TURKEY! You know, like from that movie Homeward Bound? BIRDZILLAAAAA!! So I got to wondering, why would they have this big bird? It’s not like turkeys have personalities, do they? Then I thought.. well perhaps they bought it have for x-mas dinner and they just never had the heart to kill it so they kept it as a pet. In any case, it was weird!

So.. Saturday was a great day. We went bowling and the women kicked the men’s asses four times! I’m not sure what my score was but it wasn’t all that impressive. I think the highest I got on one string was 80something.. The guys cheated like hell, taking extra balls and adding onto their scores. They still lost though.. which is bad.

Saturday night we went to Blakes for that bombfire. My mother was going on telling me to bring all these clothes and I was going on saying how I’d be fine! I got there and even right in front of the fire I had so many clothes. A t-shirt, sweater, winter jacket, jeans and another winter jacket over my legs. I was still freezing! I got a bit of ribbing over that from the others.. you know, the Cape Bretoner not being able to handle the cold anymore, spoiled by that European weather. Bah!! It was damn cold out though! I didn’t get any pics while we were there but I did get this one of us on the way:

Brrrrr
Nice HAT Xander!

He looked like a complete ‘tard and I refused to go into the liquor store with him. That’s my hat that goes with my ski suit.. and he knew he looked like a big dummy but he loved it. Joke was on me though, he was nice and warm at the fire!

Yesterday we had a pretty easy day. We just hung out and went on the turkey drive. Mom made a nice roast beef dinner and then we watched the movie Paycheck. I really like it a lot.. a bit confusing at first but once it started coming together it was great! Although Uma Therman didn’t really suit the biologist role very well. I think they could have found someone better. Not that I don’t like her, I just think she didn’t fit well in that particular role. We got Bowling for Columbine as well and watched some of it in the afternoon but my parents didn’t seem to like it quite as much as we did. I figured they’d find it really interesting but at one point I looked and they were both asleep!

Tonight we are going to BINGO!! Talk about your “Down Home” things to do! haha I’m really looking forward to it though, is it weird that I find Bingo to be loads of fun? I suppose I should want to spend my evenings partying or doing whatever I used to do when I was 20 but I swear, I love bingo! I admit it, OK?!! *sigh* I won’t win anything tonight, because I already won at Bingo once in my life ($700) and lightning never strikes the same place twice. I’ll go anyway just on the like, 0.0000000000000000001% chance that I might win.
