E.ON FTW (That means for the win for you non geeks!)

Omg I totally forgot to mention this!  If you remember, this time last year we got one hellish bill from Eneco, who are the DEVIL.   I was so angry I was spitting nails because I was convinced the mistake was on their end and not ours.

Tonight I was talking to a friend and he was telling me that last years he used 300m of gas and this year in the same house, under the same conditions, he supposedly used 1000!   That reminded me of my Eneco fiasco and that I hadn’t given an update after getting our end of year bill from E.on.

This year, we are getting €175 BACK from E.on.

BACK.  We are getting money BACK!

So now I am 100% convinced that Eneco are a pile of mental midgets who don’t know their asses from a hole in the ground.   We always got money back every year, yet last year they took hundreds and hundreds of euros out of our bank account with no warning.  Claiming we miraculously used a fuckton more energy than previous years.

Well, we’ve switched and we are happy… but Eneco still phones us at least once a month trying to get us to switch back.

I can’t WAIT for them to call this month.

  1. Wow. Unsurprisingly enough, my gas company does the same thing – at some point, completely randomly, our bill skyrockets… Eventually they check the meter and a month or two later we don’t have to pay anything. But it is a big pain in the butt.

Consequently, I feel like a big dork for NOT being as big a dork as I thought I was but I am VERY glad I know what FTW means now. Geez. Can’t believe I didn’t really know that before.

Megans last blog post… Ding dong ding dong…

  2. Eon isn’t much better if you ask me. They overcharged us 800€ and then since they cannot -possibly- estimate a bill correctly, underbilled us for 600, so we had a 600€ bill this year. If we’re really really really lucky it’ll be about even next year, but it shouldn’t take them three years to give a good estimate of your usage!

  3. Whoo hoo you get money back! billing here is odd to me sometimes..like when you send them your bank info you dont always know when they are going to take it out..almost like a check so you have to keep track of those things.

Im glad you guys switched though and hopefully this will be the end of getting screwed over.

  4. Eneco is one steaming hot pile of poo. One of the few companies the Dutchie will not allow access to our bank account to. The other was UPC (when we were forced to use it).

He never had so many problems in his life trying to set up a repayment plan. It took us six bleeping months. Now I’m wondering whether we should have paid anything at all…grrr.

Some place called RWE is calling all the time, trying to pressure us to switch. Dutchie told them to call back at a more convenient time…So they tried once when I answered the phone “CW speaking. The guy started the sales pitch in a flurry of Dutch. I replied “I don’t speak Dutch” and he hung up in my ear.

Nice. If that’s an example of customer service, I think for now I’ll stick to the devil I know…

  5. I got a f****** huge bill from Eneco ! From one day to the other they decided that we are using 50 % more power ?! WTF ?? So on of their guys came over today to check on our meters but could not give us a straight answer yet because all their billing is outsourced ! So we are still waiting on what’s gonna happen.
BTW had the same problem with the dentist, we paid our bills but they had outsourced their billing and gave us a wrong account number and the “billing company” kept sending us more bills with penalty fees on it because they did not get the money !
This place is a joke !

  6. Thank you and yes I will try to take bump shots lol.

  7. You know, I just gotten used to this engery system, re-embursment later thing. What I dont like, is finding out we were being billed a huge bill, based on old information and estimation. They tried to justify that five people currently were living under our roof. How could we use that much with just the two of us without proof. Asshats! Good you touched this subject because were with Nuon and it’s hilarious how most of these ideas dont really work!
