Hopscotch: Work in Progress

As promised, I am back with a bit more to show of my new Hopscotch pattern! I won’t show it in full just yet, but you can get a wee bit of an idea, I think.

I mentioned in my previous post that this is not a triangular shawl, as I needed a change from that. It is still neckwear, but this time it’s a scarf. A really really long scarf! It’s worked in a semi lace pattern which creates a fine fabric that drapes beautifully. That’s not even blocked, as I’ve not gotten around to that bit yet, so I can’t even imagine how fluid it will be afterwards.

The wearability of this is fab and doesn’t give you any of that “How the heck do I wear this?!” thing many people get with shawls. This one is easy, you just wrap, wrap, wrap it to your hearts content. The overlapping colours look amazeballs, and that’s using the Bubblelickious, which is pretty much all pinks. I can only imagine it in some of the more multicoloured colourways.

I know, I know, you aren’t getting to see the whole scarf or pattern, but what kind of Scheepjes blogger would I be if I didn’t put the amazing teaser skills they teach us to good use, right? (I just cackled a little, for real… haha)

I worked this project from the inside out, and ended up playing a sick game with myself where I tried to not let the cake collapse. I was doing great until I let the dog on the sofa and she sat on my Cohana bag. Mental note: next time I play Whirl chicken, use a solid, dog-butt resistant container!

She is soooooo lucky she’s so cute. Otherwise, she’d be in big trouble! YOU try being angry with her with that face!

Ok, well that’s all I really have to show at the moment, as I really must get off my butt and block this bad boy! I’m hoping I have enough blocking wires to do the length but I’m having my doubts, to be honest! We will see, but in any case I will be back soon with a proper reveal. See you then!
